This is a review of the Tree Keepers Oracle by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law and Angi Sullins.
I just got my copy of the Tree Keepers Oracle the other day, and I’m still sort of coming to terms with it. Stephanie Law is one of my favorite artists, and every piece of art she makes has incredible detail. You always see something new. Shadowscapes is my main Tarot when reading for others so this caught my attention right away.
I think that first and foremost this is an agent of self-healing. Each of the 44 cards has an entry in the full-color companion “LWB,” and the description is less of a traditional meaning and more of an affirmation. It lends itself best to a single card pull.
The card I pulled for myself was “40 – Keeper of Innocence.” I cannot fully tell you what it means, I think it requires a feel/grock interpretation. I’ll give you an excerpt from the longer text.
“Love dissolves all things unlike itself, so choose the loving eyes of a new parent and gaze at your own life with captivation and wonder. Now is the time to connect with the innocent, whole, breathtaking soul you were born with.”
In a way that I cannot fully explain, the card reminds me of the Buddhist concept of emptiness, and I dig that.
I recommend the Tree Keepers Oracle for anyone who is going through or has gone through some “stuff.” The entries directly address issues of trauma and healing, and contain reminders to be gentle with yourself. Of course the art is gorgeous and full of detail.
